me decide to use this because of so many reason for my resource needed.
before, surabaya office used to expand limits of hardware or software solutions within data centers. now in bali office, me needed only for expanding my hardware to be a backup machine for all service in office.
so, here’s why we must use an virtualization.

  • Save time
  • Reduce the number of physical server since we now can run many virtual machines inside one physical box
  • Reduce network cabling and switches
  • Shorten the backup window and be well prepared for disaster recovery solutions
  • Save a huge amount of money on electricity and space
  • Get total control of all your servers and storage
  • Be able to remotely administrate your whole infrastructure
  • Deploy new servers and whole solutions in minutes
  • Upgrade/perform hardware maintenance whit out any downtime (no more late night/weekend work)
  • Utilize your investments to the full
  • Have future proof migrations, never have to reinstall a virtual server simply because you needed to do a hardware upgrade
  • Be able to do test on a exactly replica of your production environment. So now you will now for sure 100% that whatever new software you want to install will work in your production
  • Reduce the numbers of cables (power, net, fiber etc) to a minimum

semua website yang berbau secure connection tidak bisa di akses. buka email nggak bisa, mau update ns nggak bisa. halaaah.. *injek2 firefox, Linux emang SUX.!!!*
akhirnya setelah di bolak-balik sampe download source firefox lagi.
maka pemecahannya cuman delete dan di restore lagi file yang sudah didonload tadi itu.

Proklamasi

step-step yang dilakukan tadi siang.
1. download source firefox-1.5.0.6 dan di extract.
2. folder hasil extract tersebut bernama firefox dan direname menjadi firefox-1.5.0.6
3. rename folder /usr/lib/firefox-1.5.0.6 menjadi firefox-1.5.0.6.old
4. copy seluruh folder dari source ke /usr/lib
5. restart firefox dan berdoa. :).

yaa karena ini.! betul nggak.? :D.
me sekarang lagi maenan FreeBSD di laptop yang sering me bawa-bawa.
udah coba install beberapa distro yang laen, ada aja masalah yang didapat. entah load kernel yang gagal.., sampai ke beberapa modul device yang nggak kedetect. akhirnya setelah nekad download distro dari kantor, maka dapatlah salah satu yang lumayan cukup bersahabat. os ini adalah turunan dari FreeBSD yang mana oleh pendirinya dikasih nama PCBSD.

Sekarang PCBSD sudah sampe ke release 1.0 yang dimotori FreeBSD 6.0-p7. installasi dibilang lumayan mudah untuk ukuran orang-orang baru. jadi, tinggal pencet-pencet mouse dan keyboard aja. nggak ada istilah masukin serial number ;)). dan dengan menggunakan desktop base on KDE 3.5.2, tampilannya sudah pasti juga nggak mau kalah. :)
PCBSD juga mengembangkan software packagenya sendiri, bisa dilihat disini. disamping kemudahan untuk mengupdate port directory yang sudah ada.

Dan akhirnya laptop ini sudah full FreeBSD base… nggak ada lagi dual booting. ato tambahan os laen. cukup satu aja.. he..he..
setelah sehari kemaren di oprek.., sampai detik ini soundnya hilang.. :D. yaa.. jadinya ada maenan lagi buat hidupin sound modulenya. moga aja siang ini kelar..

rwxr-xr-x 755 Read and Execute permissions for all users. The file’s owner

The file’s owner also has Write permission. Users who are not the

rw-rw-rw- 666 Read and Write permissions for all users. No execute permissions
to anyone.
